Example overview image of the data center. This is set up as an
imagemap, so that the user can click on each frame of racks to see
the hosts that are in them.

machinery. This equipment is used to perform automated testing of
patches to the Linux kernel. Clicking on the images allows viewing
of details about the host as well as seeing the testrun history for
the particular piece of hardware. This can be extremely helpful in
troubleshooting if a piece of equipment has a hardware issue.
Notice the warning messages about the missing information, at the
bottom of the display.
Support items such as security, phone, and network equipment are
included in the rack database. Note that this shows a two-rack
frame; any number can be displayed by simply specifying them in order
via the CGI program's 'rack_ids' parameter.
OSDL provides free access to hardware for the open source community
to do testing of open source Linux software. This screenshot shows
one frame of project equipment. The makeup of the racks changes
periodically, based on the needs of the projects; rackview assists
in planning and tracking these changes, by allowing sysadmins,
managers, and other users with visibility into the current machine
layouts.
